Oil Pulling

 

Oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic practice that can help alleviate a multitude of health issues. This is something I’ve recently been experimenting with, and I must say I do notice a difference in the cleanliness of my mouth, as well as a noticeably brighter smile. I thought I would share this with you because it’s a pretty easy, quick, and inexpensive habit to add to your natural hygiene routine.

The main benefits of oil pulling:

  • Whitens teeth

  • Alleviates bad breath

  • Gingivitis/ plaque/ cavities

  • Inflammation

  • Allergies

  • Hormonal imbalances

  • Improved sleep

  • Detoxification

Test this out and add these 5 simple steps to your morning routine:

  1. Scoop out about a tablespoon of coconut oil

  2. Swish the oil in your mouth… Start with 5 minutes and work your way up to 20

  3. Spit out the oil in a trash can

  4. Rinse out your mouth with water

  5. Brush your teeth
